Its international dimension was enhanced by its suicide bombing of the United Nations office in Abuja and the subsequent kidnapping of over 200 school girls. We shall review its evolution and its rhetorical construction; the kidnap of the school girls and the #BringBackOurGirls hash-tag diplomacy; the role of local and international political leaders and the present situation in Nigeria
