AIIA National Conference 2015

The AIIA’s National Conference 2015 will bring together some of Australia’s leading international affairs experts to address the question “Australian Foreign Policy: Regional or Global?”

 

The Conference will be held at Hotel Realm, Canberra on Monday 19 October 2015.

Confirmed Speakers for the National Conference include The Hon Julie Bishop MP, Minister for Foreign Affairs; The Hon Tanya Plibersek MP, Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Development; Senator Scott Ludlam, Australian Greens Senator for Western Australia; Professor Brian Schmidt AC, Nobel Laureate in Physics 2011, and Incoming Vice-Chancellor of ANU; and The Hon Gareth Evans AC QC, Former Minister for Foreign Affairs and Chancellor of ANU.

In conjunction with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade the 2015 National Conference will be accompanied by Masterclasses on foreign policy. These classes will be held at DFAT’s Civic office on London Circuit on Sunday 18th of October. Masterclasses are intimate workshops designed for young professionals and students to directly engage with leading figures in international affairs such as Ric Smith AO PSM FAIIA, former Secretary of Defence; Erika Feller AIIA, former Assistant High Commissioner of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR); and James Ingram AO FAIIA, former Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Programme.
