AIIA Appoints Director of Communications and National Operations Manager
The AIIA is pleased to announce that, following a competitive selection process, a Director of Communications and National Office Operations Manager have been appointed.
Niree Creed joins the AIIA with a wealth of experience in journalism and public relations. Throughout her 44-year career, Niree has distinguished herself as a pioneer. She was the first woman to appear on ABC television news and was the first female studio presenter on Channel 7’s “11AM” program. For 10 years Niree was Director of Public Relations at the National Farmers’ Federation and prior to joining the AIIA she was a Senior Adviser to then Governor-General Quentin Bryce. As Director of Communications, Niree will work to enhance the AIIA’s profile as a leading national and international knowledge-broker in international affairs.
Chris Farnham assumes his position as National Office Operations Manager after serving on the AIIA ACT Branch Council for the past two years. Chris currently acts as the Senior Strategic Advisor for Australasia and Southeast Asia at Stratfor Global Intelligence. He holds a Master of National Security Policy Studies from the Australian National University. As National Office Operations Manager, Chris will ensure a high level of operation and efficiency from the AIIA’s national staff.
The AIIA’s Deputy Director, John Robbins, will be staying on board to manage specific projects. The AIIA thanks him for his exemplary service to the AIIA over the past five years.
