Professor Toby Walsh FAAS is the Scientia Professor of Artificial Intelligence at UNSW. Hailed as a ‘rock star’ of Australia’s digital revolution, he is a pre-eminent researcher on AI and robotics and their impact on our daily lives. He leads the Algorithmic Decision Theory Group at Data61 and is a visiting professor at TU Berlin. He has been an outspoken advocate at the United Nations and elsewhere for banning lethal autonomous weapons and placing limits on AI for the public good. He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science.
