Peter Walton is Director of International at the Australian Red Cross. He has over twenty years’ international experience working in multi-sector international development in both not-for-profit organisations and the private sector. During his career he has undertaken assignments in over 40 countries, including being based for seven years in Vietnam where he was the Regional Representative for operations across the Mekong region for Child Fund Australia. During this time he was awarded the Vietnam Government’s Medal for Peace and Friendship, the highest award offered to foreigners, for services towards social development and poverty alleviation.
