On 27 October 2015, the AIIA and Australia-Indonesia Centre co-hosted a Diplomatic Masterclass Dinner with AIIA VIC in Melbourne for senior Indonesian diplomats. The masterclass was part of the SESPARLU training program conducted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia which aims to enhance the capacity and leadership of Indonesia’s diplomats as they move in to senior diplomatic roles. After a welcome by the AIIA’s Acting National President Ms Zara Kimpton OAM, the event featured presentations by former Australian Ambassadors John McCarthy AO FAIIA and Bill Farmer AO and Trade Commissioner Leith Doody.
