Professor J. Bruce Jacobs shares his expertise on Taiwan’s historical and contemporary political and economic landscape, and to discuss the implications of the recent elections for Taiwan’s and the region’s future.

Professor J. Bruce Jacobs is Emeritus Professor of Asian Languages and Studies at Monash University. He has published extensively on Taiwan. Professor Jacobs undertook his doctoral field research on local politics in Taiwan, and completed both his undergraduate and postgraduate studies in politics and Chinese at Columbia University. After his undergraduate studies he also spent a year studying at the Graduate Institute of History at National Taiwan University.
