Dr Ahmed Abbadi is one of the most respected Islamic scholars in Morocco. He heads Morocco’s most influential Islamic organization as Secretary General of the League of Mohammedan Scholars. From 2004 to 2006, Dr. Abbadi served as Director of Islamic Affairs at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs. He received a PhD in Islamic Studies from Cadi Ayyad University of Marrakesh, where he teaches the comparative history of religions and Islamic thought as a distinguished professor. From 1999 to 2000, he was a Fulbright Scholar in Residence at DePaul University and the University of Chicago. He currently heads committees for the US‐Morocco Strategic Dialogue and Morocco’s Higher Council for Education.

Dr. Abbadi has written numerous articles and books on Islamic thought and jurisprudence.
