The 2017 AIIA National Conference on Monday 16 October attracted strong media attention and further public discussion of Australian foreign policy.
The day opened with then AIIA National President Kim Beazley speaking on ABC Radio’s flagship AM program and by mid morning the conference social media hashtag, #AIIA17, was trending at #1 in Australia.
Contributions by the Minister for Foreign Affairs Julie Bishop and Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs Penny Wong were featured by The Australian, The Australian Financial Review, The Guardian, Xinhua, News.com.au, SBS, 7News and Sky News among others.
