The AIIA hosted its third forum on Ministers for Foreign Affairs. May’s forum focused on the Whitlam/Fraser years of 1972-83. A series of panels discussed Australia’s relations with China and Japan, relations with the US and Indonesia, engagement with the Third World, and diplomacy during the Whitlam/Fraser era. Throughout the forum participants were able to share personal experiences and stories from the era.
